Spoiled Buggers

It's a little thing called patience, and it paid off! I have a great job, and I can finally spend all my money on useless things again! With the help of DirecTV, I got to buy a whole home for little hermit crabs, a number of new shirts, and some awesome extras like a spritzer bottle for the plants and hermits and a filter for the fishies. I'm still planning on getting a new tank for the lil buggers. They're cramped in a 3 gallon tank, and they desperately need a larger home. Poor little things.

Since I've never introduced them before... :

Fire Ball.

My little Betta fish that lives in a small bowl on my desk. He has a plant and colorful marbles that match his color. Very friendly and loves feeding time.

Slash, Spock, and Namine

Cardinal Tetras that live in the 3 gallon tank. They have a new filter and bubbles to play in. They are the quick ones in the tank and always enjoy attention. Slash has a small jut in his reflecting stripe. Spock has a spot on his second lower fin and also named in regards to Star Trek which was on of the popular movies at the time. Namine has no identifying features and so was named Namine from Kairi's Nobody in Kingdom Hearts.

Sun Ray, Cooper, and Trooper

Guppies that live in the 3 gallon tank. They enjoy the bubbles a lot. It's Sun Ray's favorite. He was named for his coloring which resembles - you guessed it - the rays from the sun. We call him Ray for short. Cooper was a last minute addition to the tank after an unfortunate incident win the PH which resulted in two loses (RIP Squirt the Guppy and Alba the Albino Cory). When we were bringing him home from the store he was pooping in the bag so we were going to call him Pooper, but instead disguised his name so no one but the readers would know. Trooper didn't have a name before the PH incident, but never once acted out of sorts, so I dubbed him a trooper: There you have it.

Trouble

Cory fish that loves to race to top of the 3 gallon tank for air and continue playing around on the bottom of the tank. He's constantly looking for food, but when I toss him a pellet, he hardly cares. Seems as though he just likes to stay busy.

Crush and Jeffrey

The newest additions to my little pet. These hermit crabs love to crawl and climb around. Crush is the bigger Hermit who changed shells the second I brought him home, and who is know buried deep in the jungle bed molting - I can only assume. Jeffrey was named after the you know what from Get Him to the Greek. His huge personality for such a little guy definitely set him apart from the rest.

If it's not cock roaches, it's mice.

I finally move out of my apartment in Tahlequah, and will automatically tell you this, they are not kind folk. Just today I get a text message from my x boyfriend stating that he was witnessing my poor Cadillac Coup Sedan being towed off. I'll admit that I shouldn't have come to the conclusion that he was the one who was towing it off, but that's how you're supposed to think of x's right?

I called him and after a few unnecessarily colorful words, I got the information I needed. I called Bumper to Bumper and as it turns out, Twin Oaks apartment manager, Sally, was the culprit. It was very helpful of him to give me this information, because it allowed me to leave a few more colorful remarks on her answering machine. It always helps to vent out your frustrations to a voice recording.

Well, the tow was $150, but I was able to talk him down to $80 because I had done business with him before. Now, there was a catch. I had to get the darn thing titled and insured before I could pick it up. Personally, I don't give a damn about the car itself. I just wanted the revenue. I had a buyer, and although I tried talking the guy out of buying the thing several times, he seemed - to put it frankly - stoked.

After relaying this information to Andrew (the buyer), we finally came up with decision to lay it off. Let them have it. It's too much trouble to title it correctly. You see - this is the side story to the bigger story to make sure the reader doesn't get bored - Jody (my x) had made a deal with me that if I should trade my '95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo - recently wrecked - with Parnel's '79 Cadillac, Jody then would pay me $400. At the time, all I wanted was a working vehicle, and I was sure the Jeep would be out of commission for a while, so I let him talk me into it.

Months down the road, Jody moves out, leaves me with the bills, doesn't pay me my half of the entertainment center we bought together, narks on me to my parents, and left me a broken down Cadillac... oh yes, and not a penny of the $400 to be seen. I hop around on the transit bus for a few months until I was blessed with a new vehicle. My daddy bought me a 2004 Isuzu Rodeo... which i just recently got out of the shop. It had been in there for about a week over a mere spark plug.

The Cadillac was gone, and I was pissed. I just got a buyer and although I was trying to talk him out of it in the first place, the fact that something was done to me was still itching at my frustration. I decided then that I would call my mommy and daddy and complain to them. They, of course, calmed me down and advised me to call my neighbors to check in on my things inside. Thank goodness they were still there.

I paid my rent, and I'm still hoping for my deposit back, but we'll see. I might have vented a little too much on the answering machine. I realize this should have nothing to do with my deposit. Financial vs. personal. The thought still boggles me and I lack sleep.

New Job. New Place. Same Me.

From Tahlequah to Skiatook, my feelings will remain the same. My outlook, however, is awesome. I will always look forward, and when the past is brought up, yes, I will hang my head just a little sad, but maybe it's the weather. I noticed my plants have slowly been drooping. They too, I assume, are affected by the weather.... except for that fern... I put him in a high corner out of the way until I get tables. I did forget to water the poor guy.

My fish is still swimming around, still begging for his food because he loves his pellets. I treat him with medicine every few days, and yes water changes aren't very good for the PH, but he seems to be happier in a clear tank. Every time I toss in fresh water (50%) the food that was left over from the bottom likes to float around, and I just imagine how dirty and itchy he'd feel. Hmm. Do fishes itch? Question for my encyclopedia on another day.

My new job is 7 am to 4 pm. The commute is 40 minutes. I haven't been late yet. Tomorrow will complete my first week of training. Our test is on Monday. Marianna (our trainer) says that we can use our notes. I have about 15+ pages. I'm sure I'll be fine. I'm not the greatest at retaining, but they say the more you learn, the more you can retain.

In the months to come, winter will set in. My body will shiver like a Chihuahua, and my laughter will grow. I've noticed I've laughed more in the past week, that I have in the past 6 months. It's an odd feeling once you notice. That's when it brings up the past. Again, I will look to a better tomorrow and shadow the ones who set a good example... the ones that have that colorful aura.

Karma too, affects me. It's something I strongly believe in. Key point: those who do badly towards others will (usually) do badly for themselves. Those who do good for others, will do good for themselves. Happiness is given to the ones who most deserve... the ones who most give in return.

I did not want to get up this morning. Every time my cell alarm rang, I just hit the snooze button. Finally I gave up and just pressed confirm. I was having such a good dream. There was no way I was going to ruin it.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! My God, it’s going off again! I flipped the phone open, and Sonic was shining back at me. I hate Sonic.

“Hello?” I slurred.

“Hi Candise. Are you going to come in?” I think it was Ashley – I didn’t like her much.

Come in where? I thought. “Umm yeah, sure. What time is it? Oh, okay. Yeah, I’ll be in!” I jumped off the couch and stumbled off to my room.

“How long are you going to be?”

“Umm, maybe . . . thirty minutes?”

“Alright, bye.” Click.

I starred at the phone. Umm . . . bye? Screw this, I was going back to sleep.

Thirty minutes later, I got up again. Now was the time to call in and make up some lame excuse. This will be only the second day that I don’t come in. The Sonic number was right at the top of my caller ID list. So I played around with my call log before I called them. I’ve got to make it look real. *cough*

RING! RING! RING! “Hello?”

“Hey, yeah, you’re going to have to call somebody in. I cannot get my car to start!”

“Who is this?”

“Candise.”

She slid the phone away from her ear. “Hey! Candise says she can’t get her car started!”

I heard Joe in the background. “Get directions! We’ll have someone go get her!”

Back on the phone, “Where do you live?”

“You won’t be able to make it over here.”

“What do you mean?”

“There’s too many turns, and my actual address in impossible to find in Sperry.”

“Give me directions.”

“Okay, fine.” I couldn’t believe the links these people would go. I took a deep breath, and talked as fast as I could. “When you get out of Sonic, take a right onto 86th street. Go down past the two bridges until you get to Highway 11. Keep going past that until you reach a straight dead end. Take a right. Keep going until you see a big sign that says ‘Osage’ something or other. Take a left. Go past the curve and take a left at your next stop sign. Take a right at the next stop sign after that. Then take another left at the next stop sign after that. Keep going past the four way stop. When you see Betty’s, take a right. Keep going until you see 108th street. I live at 5278. The tan house. But there are about five tan houses on that road. Do you got all that?”

“No.”

“How about you just call someone in?”

“Like who? Everyone is here!”

“Call the Hondurans in. They don’t work mornings.”

“How about you do that.”

I sighed heavily. “Fine.”

“Alright, bye.” Click.

Again with the click thing. I called Jonovic and asked if he could come into Sonic for me. It took him while to understand because he didn’t speak English all that well, but he got it. During the middle of our conversation, Sonic calls in again.

“Hold on Jonovic, I’ve got another call.” Swap. “Hello?”

“Don’t worry, about coming in the rest of the week.”

“O . . . K.”

“Alright, bye.” Click.

What is up with her and the click thing! My God! Swap. “Hey, Jonovic, don’t worry about coming in. They fired me, I don’t give a shit anymore.”

“Oh. Okay. Yeah, that good.”

“Alright, I’ll talk to you later then.”

“Okay. Adiós, Candi.”

“Bye bye.” Click. Now that was a good bye. Ashley needs to learn these finer traits. Well, I suppose I should at least tell them that he could come in.

RING! RING! RING! “Sonic, this is Ashley.”

“Hey, Jonovic says that he can make it, but I didn’t tell him to come in. You’re going to have to do that yourself!” Click.

See, I can do the click thing too. ^_^

So I’m fired, and I still have to pick up my check. Not to mention, I still have Jonovic’s DVD. I’ll have to do that sometime this week. Curse Sonic. *spits*
